liopleurodon, means "Smooth-sided tooth" is a genus of large pliosaur that roamed in seas Europe during Jurassic period. It was an apex predator during the middle and late Jurassic. Studies of
the skull have shown that it could probably scan the water with its
nostrils to ascertain the source of certain smells.

Spiky stegosaur
Kentrosaurus, means "Pointed lizard" is the small member of stegosaur that lived in Africa during Jurassic period. It had 9 pairs of plates on its neck, shoulders, and back, and 5 pairs of long, sharp spikes above its hips and along its tail. Kentrosaurus also had a long spike on each of its hips.
Largest Dragonfly
Meganeura, means "Large nerve" is the largest dragonfly that lived in Germany during carboniferous period. Meganeura
is likely to have
hunted and fed in much the same way as dragonflies do today, although
its larger size may suggest that many more creatures could have been on
the menu for it. Aside from other invertebrates potential prey may have
also included small amphibians that were rapidly evolving to
terrestrial life.

Largest Flying bird
Argentavis, means "Argentina talon" is the largest fliying predatory bird that lived in Argentina during Miocene period. With
a wingspan estimated at seven meters across, Argentavis
was roughly
twice the size of the largest flying bird today (Wandering
Albatross), and only the long extinct pterosaurs
could have
rivalled and exceeded it for size.It probably hunt small mammals using it's talon and scavenged carcass.

Canadian relative of T.rex
Gorgosaurus, means "Fierce lizard'' is the relative of T.rex that lived in Montana,Alberta during Late cretaceous period.Like most known tyrannosaurids, Gorgosaurus was a bipedal
predator weighing more than two metric tons as an adult; dozens of
large, sharp teeth lined its jaws, while its two-fingered forelimbs were
comparatively small. It lived in a lush floodplain environment along the edge of an inland sea
which would later rise up to form North America. It was an apex
predator, preying upon abundant ceratopsids and hadrosaurs.
Longest sauropod
Compy,the smallest dinosaur
Compsognathus, means "Elegant jaw" is the smallest dinosaur that lived in Germany during Jurassic period. This little pack hunter probably ate bugs and small lizards. In fact,
the first fossil skeleton of this dinosaur had the remains of its last
meal, a lizard, still in its stomach.

First known nodosaur
Nodosaurus, means "Knobbed lizard" is a genus of ankylosaur that lived in North America during Late cretaceous. The first fossil is discovered in Wyoming at 1889. It eat plants and unlike ankylosaurus,it does not have club on it's powerful tail.To defend itself from predator, it used it tail that full of spikes.
First Named dinosaur
Megalosaurus means "Great lizard" is the first dinosaur named that lived in England during jurassic period. The right one is the first design of megalosaurus, which walk on four legs while the left one is the modernized design of megalosaurus, which like all theropod. The fossil of this dinosaur is not complete so this theropod left many mystery.

First known herbivorous dinosaur
Iguanodon, means "Iguana tooth" is the first dinosaur fossil discovered that lived in England during early cretaceous period. It could stand on its hind limbs, and yet normally walk on all fours. If
attacked, it could dissuade a predator with its powerful thumb spike.Iguanodon has become quite famous as a result of it's starring role in the Disney animated film Dinosaur,
but before that it helped people understand what dinosaurs really
looked like. It was one of the first complete skeletons ever found. This
allowed scientists who had never seen a complete dinosaur, to figure
out what it would have looked like in life. In fact, the first time this
common dinosaur was found as just a partial skeleton, scientists put
its thumb spike on its nose!

Carnivores of India
Rajasaurus, means "King of lizard" is an abelisaurid that lived in India during cretaceous period.Paleontologists Paul Sereno of the University of Chicago, Jeff Wilson of
the University of Michigan, and Srivastava worked together as an
Indo–American group to study the Narmada River fossils. The fossils
represented the partial skeleton of the new species Rajasaurus narmadensis, which means "princely lizard from the Narmada Valley." The fossilized bones of Rajasaurus have also been found in the upriver region of the Narmada, at Jabalpur, in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Its fossilized bones were discovered by Suresh Srivastava of the
Geological Survey of India (GSI). Excavated from the Narmada River
valley in Rahioli in the Kheda district of Gujarat, India, the find was
announced as a new genus of dinosaur by American and Indian scientists
on August 13, 2003.

Largest Pterosaur
Quetzalcoaltus, means "Feathered serpent" is the largest pterosaur that lived in North America during Late cretaceous period. When first
discovered it was thought to have had a fifteen meter wingspan but
further studies have reduced this estimate to eleven meters, although
that’s still huge for a pterosaur. Another revision was the beak in
that it has been learned that it terminated in a sharp point as opposed
to the original blunt edge. A
more likely scenario
accepted now is that Quetzalcoatlus had a lifestyle
similar to that of
a stork, perhaps stalking small prey items like lizards and mammals
in vegetative growth on the ground, or sitting at the edges of
streams and rivers snatching fish and amphibians as they swam by.
Such feeding strategies would require very little energy expenditure,
making it easier for Quetzalcoatlus to maintain
the calorie intake
to fuel its body.
Australian pliosaur
Kronosaurus, means "Cronus lizard" is a pliosaur that lived in Australia seas during Early cretaceous period. Kronosaurus
is one of the more famous fossil discoveries to come from Australia,
and as a huge short-necked pliosaur, Kronosaurus
would have been an
apex predator of the waters it swam in. The teeth of Kronosaurus
are
conical and up to thirty centimetres long, although most of that was
root with up to twelve centimetres making up the exposed crown.
Interestingly the teeth of Kronosaurus are quite
different to other
pliosaurs
in that they are not serrated and do not have three facets.
The teeth may suggest that despite its large size Kronosaurus
may have
seized smaller to medium sized prey which could then be manipulated to
be swallowed.
Largest raptor
Utahraptor, means "Utah thief'' is the largest raptor that lived in Utah,North America during early cretaceous period. One of the most unique aspects that Utahraptor shares with its more famous cousin Velociraptor
is that both had a lethal killing claw on each foot. Each inside toe
had a large (about 10 inches) hooked claw that was controlled by a
strong tendon. This claw was held upward when the animal was walking or
running. It preyed on Iguanodon and Fight an ankylosaur called Gastonia
Biggest herbivorous dinosaur that lived on earth
Argentinosaurus, means "Argetin lizard" is the biggest sauropod that lived in South America during Late Cretaceous period.Argentinosaurus was discovered by a retired oil worker and was formally described in
1993. The few bones include hipbones, backbones, and a tibia (lower leg
bone). One vertebra was over four feet (1.3 m) tall and the tibia was 58
inches (155 cm) long. A number of prominent scientists have stated that
this member of the South American titanosaur family was the largest
dinosaur that ever lived.

Cannibalism dinosaur
Majungasaurus, means "Majunga dome" is a genus of abelisaurid that related to Carnotaurus that lived in Madagascar during Late Cretaceous. It lived alongside the sauropod Rapetosaurus, which was its main prey, as well as smaller carnivores such Rahonavis and Masiakasaurus. There is also evidence for cannibalism in Majungasaurus, with bones showing bite marks that could only be made by other Majungasaurus.
Spiky face dinosaur
Styracosaurus, means "Spiked lizard'' is a genus of ceratopsians that lived in North America during late cretaceous.Styracosaurus is one of the most well known of all ceratopsians, second only to its more famous relative, the Triceratops. Styracosaurus
is part of the centrosaurine branch of ceratopsids, which are
categorised by their nose-horn being larger than their brow horns. Styracosaurus
also had common features found in all ceratopsians; a beaked mouth with
powerful molars for grinding down plant matter and cheek pouches to
store food for chewing. The most notable aspect of Styracosaurus is its impressive array of spikes across its frill.
The most terrifying shark ever lived on earth
Megalodon, means "Big tooth" is the largest prehistoric shark that roamed the prehistoric seas.Megalodon teeth is 18 centimeters in height and this mega predator eat fish and marine mammals. One
of the most common myths most often told about C. megalodon
is that it is
only known from teeth. In reality the teeth are by far the most
common fossils of C. megalodon, but a small and
growing number of
vertebras have also been recovered. In shark biology in general,
the skeleton is always made up of 'soft' cartilage, but the
vertebrate are made up of harder calcified cartilage. This means that
while the vertebra can and often do decompose, they can survive for
longer increasing the chance of them getting fossilised.

Crocodile dinosaur
Suchomimus, means "Crocodile mimic" is a genus of spinosaurid that lived in Egypt,Africa during early cretaceous period."It was a dinosaur trying hard to be a crocodile," says paleontologist Paul Sereno after he discovered a Suchomimus tenerensis
during an expedition to Africa. It had a long snout filled with teeth
that seem designed to catch fish. Long, powerful arms ended in
three-fingered hands with huge claws, which would have been useful for
holding on to large gar fish, which may have made up part of its diet.
It probably would swim after fish or catch them on land similar to a
grizzly bear and then kill it using its massive arms.Suchomimus lived 105 million years ago and this skeleton is the most complete in existence of any of the spinosaur family of dinosaurs.
Duck billed dinosaur
Edmontosaurus, means "Lizard from Edmonton" is the largest hadrosaurs that lived in North America durig Late cretaceous period.Edmontosaurus is part of the Hadrosauridae, or duckbill family of
dinosaurs, who are known for their amazing teeth - or as
paleontologists call it, their "dental battery". On each side of the jaw
are three rows of sixty or more perfectly interlocking teeth - that's
720 per mouth, compared to thirty-two in an adult human! Not only did Edmontosaurus have a lot of teeth, but when one fell out, another from inside its jaw would take its place! Teeth like these are called "evergrowing".This dinosaur is the first dinosaur that the fossil is mummified when it's discovered and revealing it's skin! Edmontosaurus could not outrun any of the meat-eaters and had to
rely on outmaneuvering them - like a crafty football player - and
traveling in large herds, where there was safety in numbers, plus it can swim becaused of the mummified fossil.
Long tailed pterosaur
Dimorphodon, means "Two toothed form" is a genus of pterosaur that lived in europe during Jurassic period.Dimorphodon is unique among pterosaurs because it has two types of teeth like that of a mammal. It skull are small,so it diet are small fish, lizard and insects.

earliest dinosaur
Eoraptor, means "Dawn thief" is the earliset dinosaur that lived during Triassic period. Also, this is the first dinosaur that walk the earth.Eoraptor had the characteristics of later dinosaurs - serrated
teeth, grasping hands (although there is some speculation that it
occasionally walked using all four limbs), light hollow bones and a
strong, light skull.
Lock necked plesiosaur
Elasmosaurus, means "Thin plate lizard" is a genus of plesiosaur that lived during late cretaceous period. Like many plesiosaurs, had a small head at the end of a long neck and a
mouth full of needle-like teeth. It could swim into schools of fish,
moving its head back and forth to catch them. Elasmosaurus neck was so long it couldn't lift more than it's head above water.
Fan favorite ceratopsian
Triceratops, means "Three horned face" is the largest ceratopsian that lived in North America during late cretaceous.Triceratops live with herd to protect themselves from a predator like T.rex and using it's horns as a last resort.Triceratops skull can grow until 7 meters and like most ceratopsian,it can swim.Triceratops is one of the most popular dinosaurs, and has been featured in film, postal stamps, and many other types of media.

Prehistoric dolphin
Ichthyosaurus, means "Fish lizard" is a genus of marine reptile that live during jurassic period. It lives with group and gave birth to live young like a modern dolphin.Interestingly, the fossil of ichthyosaurus was founded by Mary Anning, the first female paleontologist.Unfortunately, most ichthyosaur species has extinct in the cretaceous period because their territory has driven by sharks.
Toast
Carnotaurus, means "Meat eating bull" is a genus of abelisaurid that lives in South America during late cretaceous.Carnotaurus is fast because it's muscled legs to chased prey, but it has small arm like T.rex.Carnotaurus named because of the horn, the horn are used for identified other canotaurus or attract females or intimidate rivals .
Crested hadrosaur
Parasaurolophus, means "Near crested lizard" is a genus of hadrosaur that lived during late cretaceous.Parasaur live with herd to avoid predator and can walk on four leg and run on two legs, even it can swim.Male parasaur crest is longer than female and young parasaurs doesn't have crest because they're still young.Scientist think the crest is used for underwater breathing or combat, but the crest is used for display and communication.parasaur defend itself by using it's loud sound.

Spitting dinosaur
Dilophosaurus, means "Two crested lizard" is the largest carnivorous dinosaur that live in North America during early Jurassic period. Dilophosaurus are nocturnal and live in families, sometimes the attack in group and probably use it long tail to whip and can run to 30 mph. In the "Jurassic Park" movie, dilophosaurus had frill on their neck and can spit venom to it's prey, the real dilophosaurus doesn't spit venom and had frill. Maybe dilophosaurus had frill, but there's no fossil proof because frill are cartilage and cartilage bones can destroyed easily when fossilised.
Favorite movie dinosaur
Velociraptor, meeans "Swift thief" is a genus of raptor that live in mongolia during late cretaceous period.the movie dinosaur is actually a deinonychus, because of the size,in real life the velociraptor is smaller and had feathers in it's body. The velociraptor live in pack like wolf and highly intelligent and communicating with other pack members. In the movie,It also know how to open a door and capable of setting traps.

Predator of the cretaceous sea
Mosasaurus is a genus of a marine reptile that lived during late cretaceous in the sea.Mosasaurus means "Meuse lizard" because the fossil founded in meuse river in europe. The largest sepices of mosasaurus was up to 17 meters (56 feet). The mosasaurus had a bite force of 13K,one pound than T.rex and use it flippers to steer and has a second set of teeth in its upper palate that ensures prey sliding down its throat will not able to escape. It prey on sharks, turtles, fish, plesiosaur and even other mosasaurs.
Largest carnivorous dinosaur
Spinosaurus, means "Spiny lizard" is the largest carnivorous dinosaur that lived in egypt during early cretaceous period. This dinosaur can swim and used it sail to trapped heat or attract female. The first spinosaurus fossil is destroyed during world war 2.It was 6 meters (20 feet),with sail:7 meters 13,3 meters (43,8 feet) - 15 meters (50 feet) even larger than T.rex.this dinosaur eat fish, medium dinosaur and scavenged sauropod and marine reptile carcass.Don't forget this dinosaur is a territorial dinosaur.
Headbutting dinosaur
Pachycephalosaurus and Stygimoloch both are genus of pachycephalosaurid dinosaur that lived during cretaceous period.the difference is that pachy is bigger than stiggy and stiggy has big spikes in the head than pachy. They had thick skull that defend from any predator and to fight for female.
dumbest dinosaur
Stegosaurus, means "Roofed lizard" is a genus of stegosaurid dinosaur that lived during late jurassic period. This dinosaur is the dumbest because it has a small brain that the size is like a kitten. It live in family group and herd.Stegosaurus tail are called thagomizer to defend itself from predator like allosaurus and the plates of stegosaurus are for trapping heat and give warning to other dinosaur.

Famous giant herbivorous dinosaur
Apatosaurus, means "Deceptive lizard" is a genus of a sauropods that lived during late Jurassic period. It was longer than two school buses and weighed as much as 4 adult male African elephants.Apatosaurus defend itself from a predator by using it tail that look like a whip. Most sauropods like apatosaurus eat small pebbles called gastroliths for help it's digestion.
Famous Pterodactyl
Pteranodon, means "toothless wing" is a genus of a pterosaur that lived during Creatceous period. There's a differences between female and male pteranodon, the male had a long crest and a wingspan of 5 meters (16 feet) while the female had a short crest and a wingspan of 3 meters (10 feet). It maily eat fish and scavenged remains of dead marine reptile.Pteranodon habitat is on big rocks near the seashore.
Lion of the Jurassic period

King of the dinosaur
Tyrannosaurus rex or T.rex means "Tyrant Lizard king" is a large theropod lived in North America during late cretaceous period. It has a bite force almost 12.800 pounds and the largest of all tyrannosaurids. It was 4 meters (13 feet),12.5 meters (41 feet) and weight around 7 tons (14,000 lbs). This tyrant was an apex predator and most popular dinosaur in the media.
Indonesian favorite dinosaur
Ankylosaurus, means "Fused lizard" is a genus of armored dinosaur lived in western North America at Late cretaceous.Paleontologist called it "living tank" because of the armor of the dinosaur and had a tail club to defend from theropods like T.rex.
P.S For those who already watched Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will understand about the title.
P.S For those who already watched Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will understand about the title.
Largest ornithomimid
Gallimimus, means "Chicken mimic" is a genus of ornithomimid lives in Mongolia at late cretaceous period. This omnivorous dinosaur probably the fastest dinosaur with the spedd like the modern cheetah,it could probably run up at 60 mph.It was 2 meters (6,6 feet) at the hips and 8 meters (26 feet) and weight around 160-440 kg.
Piscivore dinosaur
Baryonyx, means "Heavy claw" is a genus of a spinosaurid dinosaur that live in England at the early cretaceous period. It had a long, narrow snout filled with a cone shaped teeth like a crocodile. It primarily eat fish, but it also eat young dinosaurs.
Chinese ceratopsian
Sinoceratops, means "Chinese Horned Face" is a genus of ceratopsian that lived in China during the Late Cretaceous, living about 72-66 million years ago.It is the first ceratopsian or Honed face dinosaur that discovered in China. This herbivorous dinosaur weight around 2,2-2,5 tons (1.995,8-2,313 kg).It revealed that young Sinoceratops eat meat to help with their growing skeletons.
